Up at 4:30am. But at least I slept decent. The night before was different after I learned that Gioy my nephew (actually I am his great aunt) had lossed his life. After the initial fact of this news which put me in shock for a couple hours I started reminiscing things about Gioy. Gioy was a very tender-hearted boy. He also had a very good sense of humor!
When he was around 8 yrs. old my sister Carol (Gioy's grandma) came up to visit for the weekend. Gioy brought good news with him and shared with me. He asked Jesus into his life!
Not sure if this was the same weekend as Carol came up to visit regularly with both her grandchildren. Gioy and Ajay ( my grandson) were given some wood, nails and other tools by Greg. And he told them both to build something ( a brilliant attempt to keep two feisty boys busy.)
Well, hours later they were finished with their masterpiece. Ignoring the small pieces of wood Greg had given them they chose some large fence posts instead. They made a huge cross and dragging it across the lawn they propped it up against a tree to present it to their Grandma's.
They knew we would be pleased. And Carol and I were. For one thing there thoughts were on Jesus and also their Grandma's. Through laughter and tears this memory will always be.
I will miss you Gioy. Thank you for leaving many memories like this one for us to cherish.
